Make your headline more than just a job title – sell yourself
Winning at LinkedIn

There are no rules that say your job title has to be in the headline field. Use this space wisely and share a little bit more about yourself with prospective clients / employers by using headings like “Why I do what I do” or even “How my leadership style benefits our organization”.

Explain how you add value and always focus on the value of the outcome. As an example, you could say “we sell screws” – or you could say “’we help the construction industry work more efficiently by delivering high performance screws for all applications”.

What do YOU do to add value to your organisation? How do you improve efficiency, effectiveness or commercial growth? Take some time to craft this part of your profile as it is your first opportunity to make a great impression on a prospective employer or client.

‘What you do’ is a description of your role – make sure you define that in terms of the value you add and you’re already ahead of the game.
