So now you’ve got a Google (Gmail) Account, the next step is to get your business ‘on the map’ as far as Google is concerned. As soon as you’re ‘on the Google Map’ you can start to harvest reviews, leading to a page one listing and getting ahead of your competitors.

Add your business through Google Maps by following the steps below:

On your computer, sign in to Google Maps.

You can add your business in three ways:

Enter your address in the search bar. On the left, in the Business Profile, click Add your business.

Right-click anywhere on the map. Then, click Add your business.

In the top left, click Menu  Add your business.

Follow the on-screen instructions to finish signing up for your Business Profile.

Claim your business through Google Maps

On your computer, open Google Maps.

In the search bar, enter the business name.

Click the business name and choose the correct one.

Click Claim this business   Manage now.

To choose a different business, click I own or manage another business.

Select a verification option, and follow the on-screen steps.

Verification can be either by postcard to your business address, SMS or Email. When you receive your verification code, enter it on your page and then you’re good to go(ogle)!

Once your account is set up – you can then contact all the satisfied customers you’ve ever served – no matter how long ago the work was completed. We’ll cover this in the next instalment. OR you can see every stage now at
